if the belt wasn't gouged/ripped/torn you could have used a citrus cleaner ( or goo gone ) on the label to remove them then lightly cleaned with IPA to remove the oil...
waste of money but they don't teach those tricks in IT school.
replacing the ITB belt from the frame was an easy task
I have been using Goo Gone for years to remove gum adhesive from all types of surfaces.
