    MP c2550 Problems

    Hello

I have been getting 2 error codes coming up on a regular bases, I do clear them but it is becoming annoying now as I can't copy alot.
    They are:
    1. SC 565
    2. SC 571

Also I have lost the internet connections and have lost the ability to scan to emails.

I look forward to your replies.

    Thanks SloopJohnB

those are fuser related codes.. until the problem hardware piece is replaced the error will re-appear .. rebuild fuser w/ all the new thermostats & thermistors.. rollers // bushings etc... reset code.. shut down .. replace rebuilt/new fuser .. power on

as for scan to email there can be a multitude of issues there.. print out config for net/email.. post here in pdf format.

    things to check:

    SMB2 installed?

    what OS system ?

what email addy you trying to scan to?

    any anti-viri programs active?

have you tried setting up your laptop to scan to using the email you use?

so many questions so lil info given

do you have the manuals needed?

      Re: MP c2550 Problems

The problem with scan to email is that the MP C2550 is too old to support TLS/StarTLS which is required by most SMTP servers for security. Also the site certificate needed for SSL has most likely expired, if one was ever installed in the first place. Even Google is in the process of eliminating it non-secure port 25 option. Your options are to find an email provider that allows port 25 or port 80 such as GoDaddy's secureserver or setup a local relay service such as stunnel.

That may be true for when Ricoh first started selling machines with a site certificate for SSL authentication with SMTP servers already installed but SSL was used for other secure communication applications that installed their own device certificates. MP C2050/C2550 supported SSL but did not have the needed site certificate. A self generated Device Certificate would not work. A Site Certificate from a recognized Certificate Authority was needed. You can however export one from your browser and installed it to the MFP. See the attached Ricoh Answer document. Exact steps may have changed with newer browser versions such as in Firefox the Google Internet Authority is now under GlobalSign instead of Equifax.

As stated by others you'll need to rebuild your fuser as eventually the errors won't clear.

You need an internet connection to can to email, so if this is down consider scanning via SMB.
