Pro 8100s and 8200s any good?

I need to start upgrading a customer that I have that has about 15 907ex/1107eX machines. They average around 300k per machine per month. Have some in the 30 to 40 mil range
so its time.
Looks like what I see from manual the 8100/8200 series are completely different.
Anybody have any major issues with these or are they as good or better then the 1107ex?

The newest one is the 8300. i don't think you can get a 8100/8200 unless you go used and then its crapshoot depends on how well it was maintained there are a lot of bulletins and TSB fixes for both. All my 8300s have been flawless so far. so much better than the 8200 and exceptionally better than the 8100.

Look for the 8200 if you can they fixed most of the issues with the 8100, on the 8200 as along as you keep them PM'd properly they work great.

With Pro 907 line you could push the PM cycle on most of the components, cleaning web excepted. The newer models you need to stay on top of them with PMs. There are also a couple of specific tools you will need to have. Namely the alignment spacers for installing a new ITB belt. I have done belts without the spacers but if you get even the slightest amount off, the belt will walk to one side of the other.

Another nice thing about the Pro 8xxx series is the TCRU assemblies you could train your proficient customer on how to replace the rebuilt assembly to keep down time to a minimum. Customer TCRU items are Developer, PCU, PCU cleaner, ITB Cleaner, PTR, charge corona assy. and web; can have a spare fuser assembly as well.

I got some shops that the customer keeps the machine running and I just go in and rebuild the assemblies and do a deep cleaning when needed.

That sounds like a good offer, I might have taken you up on it but I work for a Ricoh dealer, they probably wouldn't think it was a great idea. Someone will probably help you out if you're serious.

The 8100 and 8200 are great machines, try to get one with 10 million or less if possible. Do the 600K PM when it's due, that takes care of most of the PM parts. The fuser needs to be completely rebuilt at 2 million. If you can get the TCRU kits, that's a big plus. Keep the fiters clean and replaced on schedule.

On the 1107 I found about 6 whole fuser on ebay so I just keep them rebuilt and my customer swaps them when lines appear on roller.
All the other units I just rebuild at their place as needed.

Service Part number is D179-4017 for the 8100 Fuser, D270-4017 for the 8200 Fuser

The cleaning units, charger, Drum, and Developer are interchangeable between the 2 series

If you can't find any TCRU kits you could just order the Assemblies, that's basically what's in the TCRU box you get 1 each of the cleaning units 1 drum, 1 bottle of developer, 1 drum holder, the purple screwdriver, a bag of dusting powder and some extra screws
