    MPC Push Switch

    Hi all
A quick question if I may. Does anyone know if there is a modification out for the Push Switch in the bridge unit BU3000, on the MPC machines; part no. aw500023.
I've noticed that this switch is very sensitive and I'm convinced that this leads to a varied number of faults that arise on the machine. If you shove your hand in to retrieve copies whilst the machine is still making copies. If you knock the top cover on the bridge unit, it causes the machine to jam due to 'cover open', which show up for a brief insant. I believe this also leads to the sc548/9 error code when the customer reseats the fuser unit incorrectly after removing a piece of paper from the fuser unit. I also think the machine doesn't log a jam as it was the 'open cover' that caused the jam, so when the sc code appears, there isn't always a jam code at the same time.... I digress
I look forward to your thoughts on this...cheers

Yeah, there's an RTB out for it I think. The part number's been changed if you look the latest one up on Tessa too. The Athena (MPC2500/3000) has seen more of a problem with this than the Apollon tho.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

If there is a abnormal amount of jams are logged at 'power on' in the SMC, replace the push switch(s) on the bridge unit.

Faulty switches do cause fairly random jams around the fuser exit.
