Sounds a nasty one only ever seen it when those sensors are covered in paper dust and a quick vac and a puff and a wipe of the sensors putting them back in sorts it.

I presume you have checked the metal they sit on is true and its sitting correctly and I have to say in all machines we have in the UK we switch them off.

      RTB-38 says the following :

      SYMPTOM
      CAUSE
Paper dust builds up in the paper registration area. As a result, the dust may interrupt the
LED light source for the registration sensor or double-feed sensor, causing a false
      detection.
      SOLUTION
      -
If this symptom is reported, clean the paper registration area to remove the paper dust.

      -
Check the paper registration area periodically, and clean the area as necessary (to

prevent paper dust from building up).

Thanks, Male "thats your name, right" hehe, only joking.

You right, I once left the bottom guide plate out of place, every easy do that, but this has nothing to do with that. my machine will not stop running but all my latest SCs are always SC585 all ten, believe me this machine is driving me crazy.

you can also turn off the double feed sen in the user tools i cant remember how this will make the copier less prone to the code and increase copies between calls
