    MPC3004 please wait

    Hi All

Please could I have some assistance, I have an MPC3004 which comes up with please wait, there are no errors, no SC codes, the please wait doesn't go away and there is no "check status" option on the bottom left corner to go to SP mode.

I've tried replacing the HDD and formatting but it still does the same thing. Is there any way to reset this machine without replacing the controller? I think the machine had software like papercut previously.

    Thank you

    Hi

If there was papercut previously installed, the device can take up to 5 minutes or more to get to any form of ready state, as the software loads in the background, the device is also trying to poll the ip address that was configured as part of the papercut install.

Once you get to the ready state, navigate to administration in user tools and look for extended features. You can disable papercut in that menu.
Then the device startup time will return to normal.
    Press the GREEN button!!

Might not be the controller, could be the ops panel mainboard. Try doing a factory reset on it, see if that wakes it up. Are you getting any noise out of the engine when the machine starts?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Thanks I did try that, the machine was left on for over an hour and nothing changed.

I would have but I cannot get into SP mode as the check status option doesn't show up

Switch it off at the mains, press and hold EX1 and EX3, switch it on, when it shows the blue horizon screen go to EX1 and EX2. That's factory reset mode.

                      hi, try the following:
                      1) try to turn on the mc without hdd, what happens?
                      2) is there the fax card? try to remove it momentarily
                      3) try to physically disconnect the connectors of the various cards (controller, iob, etc.) and reconnect them, it has happened to me quite a few times that it worked

*if it works, and if you don't use them, disable the java applications at startup

Tried without HDD it still does the exact same thing, no fax card and tried disconnecting cables and putting them back as well as the ram.

Argh the panel is probably in quick startup mode. New mainboard time unfortunately.

If the android OS of the Smart Operation Panel is failing to start up, that is the only solution.

It could also be a bad USB cable between the controller and the panel. If that happens, the Op Panel is "waiting" for communication from the controller.

ok, try to start the mc using a sd-card equipped with only "system/copy" firmware, in romdata folder, and see what happenes...in any case, be patient to wait when you do the various tests, otherwise you risk getting screwed....smoke one cigarette..LOL
