MP C5503 lines on prints, premature wear on sponge roller

Morning chaps, having an ongoing issue with a metis, new dev unit and drum and after approx 40k the sponge cleaning roller is getting clogged up and transfer toner onto the charge, machine has done over 2.5 million, any ideas, I'm trying to upload an image but it keeps failing ... Drum PN D2242 2245

Maybe try a complete PCDU from a different machine? Maybe the PCU upper and cleaning section is toast after so many clicks

I don't recognise this part number, was the drum a new genuine PCU?

      Are you using genuine toner?

Apologies, fat fingers D242-2245, genuine toner, 1st PCU and dev failed at 45k this drum and dev @41k, I've taken the sponge roller off and see how that runs...

Did you pop the pressure spring on the bottom of the cleaning unit to the low pressure position before installing? If you don't do that it will make the pcu fail prematurely on the 55/60 machines.. I have done it several times.

Yeah I flipped the paper clip thing, i've got the roller in my hand and the stuff on it feels a bits gritty like dev, but like I say thats the 2nd dev unit. Im gonna swap the PCDU with a working machine and see what happens.
