    MPC3504

    Hi All
Got an MPC3504 in a batch of machines
All powers up ok but when i go to utilities login as Admin
then try to select any of the options this screen pops up (does the same with the finisher attatched)

    20201215_130553 (800x600).jpg

i have updated latest firmware package, tested a screen from another machine and
have reset the screen to factory default
been working on other brands for a few years so if its a know fault forgive my lack of knowledge
it looks like a firmware /software issue not sure any ideas
    Thanks

Haven't had a recent machine do this but the last one (MPC2800 or something) that did something similar had the wrong panel fitted

Looks like you may have a faulty cover switch. The partial image at the bottom left of the screen appears to be part of the duplex paper path.

I'd print the diagnostic page (SP 5-990-005) and verify the individual firmware modules are all correct, as listed in the current Firmware History PDF.
I'd specifically be checking the animation, LCDC, and/or OpPanel firmware module. (I don't have a MP Cxx04 series machine handy so I'm not sure of the exact module names on that one.)

Package only updates modules that are not current. It does not replace corrupt modules because it is not able to detect them. You have to use individual modules.

Additionally, on some models - not sure if it applies to MPCxx04 series - the package will install OpPanel firmware that is for the Taiwan region instead of for NA. I've not actually seen it pose a problem, but if that's the case here I'd certainly update that module as well.

Drop the firmware zip on an SD card, stick it in the side of the panel, boot into recovery mode (hold EX1 and EX3 on power up, switch to EX1 and EX2 when the display shows the first image), select update from SD card.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Hit it.

Once you've downloaded the SOP OS firmware, and unzipped it, there's a readme file that describes the process pretty well.

For the 3(!) "faulty" screens - I've never had to do it but some have mentioned clearing the cache on the Android device. Once you boot into Recovery Mode (like when updating the OS firmware) there's an option to clear the cache in there.
Like I said, I've never had to do it but have seen others mention having success with some issues.
