The I.D. sensors are responsible for this function and need to be kept clean.
Because the sensor patches are read off of the transfer belt...the belt must also be in good condition for calibration to complete successfully.

    New to board...hello KK

let me guess - you guys know each other^^

Well afaik the toner density is readed by the td sensors. The ID sensors are mainly used for the color registration. Like already said these ID sensors and the condition of the transfer belt must be clean AND the image densitsy must not bee too light to ensure a proper, automatic calibration.

The silver rollers also on the transfer belt assy need to be kept clean, if these are dirty or scummed up they can give poor readings to the id sensors. So best cleaning these when replacing transfer belt.

All TD sensors are located in the dev units, if they fail during process control you will be faced with SC370-SC373.

There are three I.D. sensors, all on one assembly.
It is located between the black PCU & the fuser.

The ID sensor unit is at the upper left edge of the transfer unit. If you pull out the transfer unit you can see the unit. Removing it to clean well is very easy. see attached #15
