    MP3353 Toner Hopper

    Hey all.
Silly question here, but I can't seem to find an answer on the forum.
I have always used the MP3350/51 toner hopper on machines all the way from the AF2027 thru MP3352 (etc) series without issue, despite a different P/N. It's a less expensive option and never caused an issue. (p/n: D0193501)

I've not tried using one in the xx53 series yet, and I have to get one for a customer, and I have a couple of the others in stock, and my cost is about 2 1/2 times more for the "newer' one (p/n: D1203505) which makes NO sense at all!
Since it uses the same toner and PCU, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work in that series too. I don't see any obvious differences, but I'd really appreciate a confirmation on it.

Thanks in advance, and HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL!
Let's hope that 2021 (eventually) becomes a much better year than this one.

it will also work on the xx53 series, although I usually replace the internal parts like the "slider ass'y" to keep the old toner from scattering.

Thanks for the confirmation. I figured as much, but just wanted to be sure.
I also replace the slider assy's when they start to spew toner, but this unit's actually broken/damaged, and I've just sort of 'rigged' it up for now to get it working.
Good to know I can use the 'older' style.
It's so stupid that there are 3-4 different P/N's for essentially identical units, and all at quite different price points, but I suppose the same is even more true for things like colour PCU's, toner, etc.

FYI, D1203505 is also the part number listed for the XX52 models. D120 is the product code for the MP 2352SP. As for the compatible models you can also include the Aficio 1022/1027 and the Aficio 220/270.
