printer preferences not activated in old office doc's on a c3003

    Hoi,
We have made adjustments in the printer preferences in the printerdriver itself (advanced and general) from a c3003 installed on a server.
It seems that it will make these new preferences changes only with new office documents that we open, not with old ones.
In fact, with the old ones, the preferences still are set in the old way.
We have restart a host pc, but that was n't a fix.
    Must we restart the server?
I think that is very dificult at this large company, is there an easier way?
Thank you (again) for your help!

If the driver is installed on the server & shared out to users you can't change all setting on the local PC's.

But you can change default settings for each user in the advanced tab & set these as default.

Check that the software is not set to save printer settings with the document.

Check the setting in the docs
MS will override any driver printer setting IE print from tray 3 even if the print driver is set to print from tray 1

I must confirm. Large logistic company in my case was forwarding one MS Word document, created by one department. This doc had configured layout for special format and when people from different branch office tried to print the document, it ended with missmatch error.

I went to site and played fist with the default printer properties, unable to configure correct. However this default worked perfectly with newly created docs. After a while we found out, that only forwarded documents created by other departments or other users have these problems. And if you can (I hope) enlarge the picture - these layout options for MS Word stays with document. Paper format, tray selection and so on. It overrides the PCL windows driver settings so you have to change them in document property, not printer driver. It has unfortunately higher priority in the printing process.
