Ah, yes, the disabling of the WIM--forgot about that. I also do not know if this model offered that setting, but that's definitely a possibility (and I think that the option might be in the user mode area.) Another thought is that I think there's a specific protocol somewhere in the machine that affects the WIM operation, other than the actual turning off of the feature.

He should, as you suggested, make sure that the speed is set to auto, unless it absolutely needs to be forced to another speed, but I leave them at auto, since most networks are usually 100 mbps.

It's probably some stupid setting that had changed and we're not catching it. It sucks when stuff like that happens.

Yup schooltech that does really suck! That's why I suggested the 5801-11 NCS Memory clear. It will set all the network protocols, WIM access etc to default. All the communication settings with the network are stored in there.

If we could see the config page and/or the reports below I bet we could find the issue

5-990-5 Diagnostic Report (all firmware levels)
      5-990-6 Non-Default (all non-default data)
5-990-7 NIB Summary (NIC settings with errors)
5-990-8 Net File Log (the communication status at boot, what protocols are running, connecting, status etc)
      sigpic

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

The Inbred Tossers in our IT department came up with a neat little programme called "Ezy IP Config" that makes it dead easy for slow old farts like me to ping a printer from your laptop.

Don't know where they got it from. Would like to post it but I dont know if its licenced software and since they just fired an IT drongo for bootlegging company licenced software I'm not going to risk it as I have a very large mortgage to pay!
