MP C306 Toner Level

    MP C306 Toner Level

    Let the toner issues on these models continue....

    I have a MP C306 that won't change the toner level status in the little toner widget on the home screen, nor under the machine info section when we change out toners. Ex. It shows black is low even when I put a new one in. (on all colors as well)

    This machine was a bit froze up when I got it, but a fresh HDD along with 5-832-001, 5-801-010&11 , and package firmware seemed to get this boy back in shape. However, this is the only issue I'm seeing.

    My latest purchase of firmware for this machine was 6/2019...maybe that's the issue? Didn't know if yall had any other things I could look at or try out.

    Are you using oem toner also the package firmware hasn't been updated on ricoh since 2018 so downloaded all firmware including smart panel

        Yes on OEM.

        So I did the individual module's...turns out I have a lot more of updated firmware in the individual modules. I have to do package also though because for some reason that is the only way I can get my 306's to enable smbv2/3.

        Anyways...after updating again, still not working.

        I turned off toner end detect. the widget and status showed full. I turned toner detect back on, powered off/on, and the levels are the same as they used to be. I took all toners out. It shows all missing, replace with 4 different oem toners from a different machine and the levels return to what theyve been the whole time.

        Nothing is working as far as that end?

        Anything else to try? Still think my fw is outdated?

          I'd suggest logging into the SOP SP mode, and updating all the App's (including the supply app), they aren't updated with F/W.
          (Or just remove and try reinstalling it)
          They can be updated over a network connection

            Have you checked/cleaned the RFID sensor where the toner chip connects inside the copier? It's a pain in the butt to get in there FYI...

            Replacing this toner bottle detection board even after cleaning is sometimes necessary. Otherwise, yes the package all firmware doesn't always include all the modules required...

              If you don't have access to ricoh and you not sure what you are doing may buy the latest firmware and get them to do it for you {copier firmware}
