    [Error Code] MP 301 SC670

Any ideas on this, SC670 relates to communication error between BICU and Controller, I ordered both boards, fitted controller, turned on and seen waft of smoke and burning smell from back, not sure whether it was from board or other component, I fit new bicu and old controller, back to sc670, have now ordered both bicu and controller to fit both at same time, i'm grasping at straws. Whilst on SC670 i can do nothing with it

Normally SC670 has to do with the physical connection between the 2 boards. Most Ricoh now use a USB cable for that and the cables have a history of failing.

If you saw smoke it sounds like you put a connector on wrong.

There is only one connector between the BICU and controller and that is a board mounted and soldered plug and socket configuration, you can't make a mistake joining them, the controller is pretty much sitting on top the BICU, linked with this strip connection

He replaced the controller so I assume using the old NVRam, maybe this was fitted upside down.
