Does anyone have the ricoh aficio mp c2500 firmware?

I'm having some issues scanning to SMB and I believe it to be a firmware issue. I'm hoping there's some archive of firmware I can get it from?

MP C2500 is too old to fully support SMBv2/v3 that is needed to scan to Windows 10. There is a Ricoh support document that lists all models that have had SMBv2/v3 firmware written for them and MP C2000/C2500/C3500 are not on the list. Your best option is to do a pull scan using the TWAIN driver and a software such as SCAN2PDF.

Right!... We requested some custom firmware for older machines (Mp161).. I'm not sure if ricoh have a custom firmware for the Mpc2500.

Go in Control panel - Programs - Turn Windows features on or off and enabele SMB 1.0

SMB1 is already enabled through appwiz.cpl . Any other suggestions? It's an old dog set in his ways

from what I know, the risk is limited to just the shared folder for scans

And the next time Windows updates it will turn it off again.

Incorrect. Enabling SMB1 enables it for the entire machine, including the hidden admin shares, which is how attacks like Wannacry propogated through networks.

Turning on SMB1 for any reason isn't a solution, it's just adding new problems for customers. Unless you have a waiver of any and all liability from the customer for any damages found to be caused by it, or any loss of compliance or security standards, don't even entertain it.

As Slim suggested...grab the twain driver and a third party scanning program and pull scan...or...here's a thought....buy a new machine?

Thank you for backing me up on this.
Ransomware can jump nodes in a network, therefore putting the WHOLE network in danger.

Suggesting using SMBv1 is just plain STUPID.
