MP C3000 Sudden severe striping

Hello, i picked up a MP C3000 for free from a local small business. They said it worked fine, and it did work perfectly for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Yesterday all of a sudden the prints come out with heavy stripes or banding completely covering the page. See attached photo.

I am not a tech but I am handy. Looking for what to do. I'd rather try to clean/repair something (even if that means disassembling, I'm OK with that - nothing to lose). Would rather not replace parts, since it was free to begin with!

is this a print from a PC ?

or

is it a copy?

at some point you WILL have to replace parts

what are the page counts on the machine?

Looks like a board problem. IPU, BICU or bad memory on controller.

This was print from a PC, but printing a page count does the same thing. Page count is around 330,000.

This probably won't help, but...the last time I saw something like that was back in the seventies when my my drugs peaked during an Aerosmith concert...(okay it wasn't really the LAST time I saw that.)

Awesome.. My son thought it was cool too, and kept a couple of the sheets to look at!!

Attached an image of color print and page counters, it does 'print'.. It's just that it has this gray / striped background on every page (you can see it's kind of changed, now overall grey and less 'stripey'). It just told me that Black was empty and I've replaced that, but still the same result.

That is definitely the K PCDU. Since the other was a job from a computer, try clearing the printer application memory SP 5801-008.

Take a look at the black pcu chargeroller.

I cleaned the black charge roller and after a dozen or so sheets it's doing much better again! We'll see how long it lasts...
