i have this error when the machine sleeps this night , and sometimes when printing and when starting..

amazing

any idea ?

since i have changed the toner bk

i replace him but no resolved...

Faulty or dirty toner bottle contacts can cause this error. If not try updating the firmware.

• Code: SC670-02
• Description:Engine is down when machine starts up (SC reboot can not be performed)
  Machine-down was detected after the /ENGRDY signal was not asserted.
• Causes:The engine board was reset at an unexpected time
• Remedy:Update the firmware. Check the connection between the engine board and the controller board.
• • If it is always reproduced, replace the engine board. If the problem persists, consider replacing the controller board or other boards between them.
  • If reproducibility is low, multiple causes are to be considered, such as software, engine board, controller board, and PSU.

what happened before it kicked the code?

was a repair done?

user messed the machine up?

i am technicien since 10 years by I ve never seen this error.
seams very difficult to find the real reason apparently
the service manual had a correction , it s noticed that the toner bottle may be in cause

i have service manual of course
never happened before this code
the user just changed the black toner before it s finished ..
not repair done ,
I just changed toner bk and all the color , be cause we re thinking it s about the chip toner bottle but none..

what you would like I do ? changed the id chip sensor or the toner bottle assy ?
I think it's not that because the code appear when the machine was sleeping ...
I think I can look at the connector between the bicu and the controller card

but any help appreciated

If you have replaced all the toners & the toner chip contacts are clean update to the latest package AND any modules that are not in the .pkg file.

If it carries on playing silly buggers replace the toner hopper and the BRB board.

i don t think it s a bout the toner hopper because the toner turn when I turn it ans there is no hard mechanical

and now I have got sc 670-01 and not 670-02


For THE BRB BOARD , it s maybe possible but what makes me doubt is that the code appeared when the machine was on standby....

I were thinking better on bicu board control board and psu board...

I've had this and it was a compatible toner try another bottle oem would be best

Ricoh's really don't play well with compatible toners do they brother? well at least in my dealings with them.

Same here on metis customer had oem toner so I thought I order the pwb was still the same replacement of new oem toner sorted problem I've even had oem toner with a missing chip in sealed box.

no it s a genuine toner

and I have change 2 times black yellow magenta cyan

I just change one hour ago the bicu I m waiting for sc code return ...

so now I have the copy clear... look at the picture
all cables are ok


so it s why I think about psu problem...
