    MPC3000,3500,5000,etc toner pumps

Apologies since this is an old topic, but wondering if you full time Ricoh gurus know if pump rebuilds work and the best source for rebuild parts? Also how cross compatible are the k pumps from different models?

    I have rebuilt a bunch.
bought 10 sets of that rubber piece that goes bad and pull the clutch apart and clean with lacquer thinner.blow all all parts..
A few worked but overall consensus not worth the time................only
    in a pinch if needed.

My 2 cents on that would be that I've heard of some having varying levels of success with rebuilding (As Andy Said), so my reaction is why bother wasting time with a process that doesn't have a high success rate?
Who wants (or needs) to be going back over and over to repair the same issue - particularly when the unit we're talking about just isn't very expensive.
As for interchangeability......There is no compatibility across generations of machines to the best of my knowledge.
I remember once trying a C2800 K pump in a C3500 (or vice versa) and it didn't work.
However, if I remember correctly, you can swap the Y/K pumps, and also the C/M pumps within the same model range. I believe the only difference being length of the hose that comes with them.

I find it doesn't work out rebuilding waste of time. mpc3500 are smaller will not work in mpc5000 just look at the gear size

Not worth it to rebuild them!

The MP C2000/C3000/C3500/C4500 all use the same pump. B2233255. It's the Black Pump, but it works on ALL colors.

The MP C2800/C3300/C4000/C5000 all use the D0293221 Pump. Same deal, it's the black pump, but works in ALL the color locations.

              Hey Andy.
              Not even close!
Slow roll out on vaccines which is picking up now, but can't even eat outside on a patio for at least a couple more weeks, and even outdoor activities like golf have been closed. The only place in the world (including the rest of Canada) that they are closed to the best of my knowledge.
              Just stupid!
Finally opening those up tomorrow, but all non- essential businesses are still closed.

We are open to all of those activities in red states..granted some blue states still have restrictions. Here in NC we are opened up only because the SMART PEOPLE are defying governor Poopers edicts.. and have been for the majority of the time.

There is no science involved..only politics.
It's been proven sunlight destroys covid.. so why keep indoors where the air is dirtier and recycled constantly.... most air filters are NOT changed on time and actually hurt the system by making it work longer and harder.
Again NO ONE I know has gotten sick and it's been proven in my state the numbers were greatly fudged upwards.

We were ordering black pumps to use in ALL colours when we were repairing these models.
Vac out the existing hose and fit the new K pump in whatever colour was required.

And if the Teflon coating on the inside of the hose to prevent clogging is damaged???

out of personal curiosity I tried to understand the fault, using a bench power supply, on one that I replaced a month ago.
the problem seems to be the clutch, which has lost its strength, I replaced it with an MP2000 from the paper transport, but I haven't had the chance to test it yet, also because we only have a couple of units around that use that pump, I didn't notice any flaws in the rubber part, at least visually
