Ricohh DD 3334 Duplicator master problems

Good day gentle people, i am not so good at duplicators. I have a customer with a ricoh DD 3334 duplicator with a master problem.

1 The customer had the drum out of the machine for 3 weeks. so the dry is dry and has no ink on it.
2 When making the master it only clamps the leading edge and the trailing edge drops inside the machine creating a paper jam.

Question : can a dry drum cause the master not to attach properly ?
Or is there something preventing the master making from attaching properly ?

    Any suggestions

    Regards

hello, you should post duplicators in the appropriate section of the forum. So uniform inking of the drum makes the matrix stick well to it. You have to make sure that the ink is distributed throughout the drum and if this is not the case, the hardened ink inside it will be removed. You could run it over and over with the same matrix until you notice improvements in the image, provided the ink cartridge is not too old or not fluid, malleable.

That is the problem. It is the damp ink residual on the cloth screen that holds the master in place. Correction actions:
      1. If you are lucky you might be able pump ink to the screen by forced idling. Otherwise.
      2. Sell the customer a new machine
      3. Sell them a new drum assembly. It will come with carry case that the drum should be stored in any time that the machine is to not be used for more a few days.
      4. Clean or replace the cloth screen and possibly the metal screen. The cloth screen is easy to replace but expensive. The metal screen is a Major pain and will get very messy.
