    MP C307 beeps when printing

    Howdy folks,

Got a MP C307 that beeps when a print job is sent and when it finishes the print job.

Ive got into user tools and screen settings and turned off everything in there except for fax and it still beeps when it gets the print job. If i go to volume and set that to zero it no longer beeps. I think the beep at the end of the print job stopped when i turned off the "less urgent".

I have a MP C306 right beside my desk, i compared all the settings on the screen to my machine here, they were all identical and it still beeped (remoted in). Mine does not. I installed the latest print driver as well.

    Anybody else seen this?

You sir earn a gold star. I should of clued in when the lady asked if anything else could be making this beep.

When discussing why the UPS is beeping he cut me off and said after they moved the sales guy came and hooked it up for him so it must be hooked up right. I almost started laughing but stopped my self and casually said "I would not assume that".

my understanding is you should NEVER plug a copier into a UPS. based on the power consumption of the copier.

No you shouldn't. The rapid and high draw on the UPS destroys the batteries very quick.
Invest in a good surge unit that has a warranty incase the surge gets through to the unit

It can be done but you need to one rated for about 2.5 to 3 times the peak expect power draw. So for a UL listed 15 amp MFP you will need at least a 5KA rated unit and for a 20 amp MFP a 7.5KA. They are not small and usually have an external battery pack with either 2 or 4 12 volt batteries the size used on long haul trucks.

              Not to mention the cost!
