Noise while scanning to email on DF

    Hi there,
There is a noise on IM C4500 Document feeder (top feeder) while scanning to email with 200 or 300dpi not 400 dpi.
    Any ideas please!

sounds like the 400 dpi is going through slower so less stress on something. in the pased I have found noise when manualy moving the rollers/ mech slowly but not when rotating them quickly. this may help you point to the area thats making the noise.

      Hi,
I tested output check for roller exit drive which makes same sound and replaced the roller, but got no luck.

Back in the days a slippery feed belt could cause noise but I think that's not the case here if you can hear it when turning on the exit roller.

Might be a bushing, idle roller, drive belt push roller but I can't really say what to check first, noise issues are rare with these DF types.

Thanks for your idea, I will check a bushing. All DF belts and roller exit drive already replaced.

On older machines I recall that the ADF would start "screaming" whenever the separation roller had degraded enough.
Unsure if the same symptom happens on the IMC-series since we don't have that many old IMCs out there yet.

I have encountered motors that make noise only when operated at one of their possible speeds, A two foot length of 1/4 inch copier tubing makes a nice stethoscope for pin pointing the exact source of a noise. One thing, I have had brand new motors be noisier that the original.
