    SC681-12 on Ricoh MPC407

I am getting a lot of SC681-xx codes on the Ricoh MPC407 plus sometimes it just comes up with a message that it doesn't recognize the toner cartridge. My tech has gone out and vacuumed the interior of the toner cartridge hopper and tried new toner cartridges which seem to last maybe hundred copies or so then it pops the code back up. Any suggestions would be appreciated, we are trying a different vendor this week for toner to see if that makes a difference.

This is usually caused by contaminated RFID chip or it can simply be a faulty toner bottle chip.

Well I can see maybe 1 or 2 toner bottles with original chips might be bad but not every time we replace a bottle that it only lasts 200-300 copies. OEM toner or not the company we use is very reputable and we have no problem with their toner on all our other Ricoh equipment just the MPC407 series which leads me to believe there is a problem with this box... Any other suggestions and yes I am a technician with over 38 years in the field and have access to Ricoh manuals on all my equipment because I know that would be the next question displayed up here lol js. Any help is always appreciated thanks and have a great day...

That is extremely low yields. Are you using C406 or C407 High Yield? C406 color should go 6.000 and high yield 8,000. Those are based on a coverage of 5%. If you are doing most full bleed that could be the problem/
