MP C3004 faded black when printing multiple pages

    Hi,

I have a Ricoh MP C3004 with about 250k pages on it.
Called out to site due to report of intermittent faded black pages.
This one has me stumped a bit so hoping for a bit of advice on direction.
    First page comes out perfectly.
Subsequent pages the black is almost non-existant.
If i leave the printer for a minute and then run the test page again then it comes out perfectly.
Any subsequent pages are borked again unless it is left for a minute.

Both hopper & pipe to develper for black removed and cleaned (no lumps or blockages found, plenty of toner in the hopper).
Lead screw in the hopper was still in 1 piece and turned freely.

Put back together but Issue still persists.
Does this look like a charge issue or should I be looking at the developer?

when these types of problems occur the technician must come out with a pcu and a development unit (at least used) to try...anyway:

did you put the rear cover of the pcdu black? assuming yes....

    1) try another complete pcdu, and then skim whether it is the dev, or the pcu.

    2) try another ITB, it could be the transfer roller behind the ITB belt that is not making good contact.

someone might say "hey it's the power pack!"...it might!...but statistically it's never happened to me, and we have a lot of units from this series around.

I had a similar failure, when I took the first copy the developing unit turned but stopped and on the other copies it no longer printed because it stopped, check that the black unit is smooth and if it is due to the motor.

        check the rear cover
check the amount of development (could be less in it)
