Ricoh Pro 8300s locking up when finisher is plugged in

Went to customer that has 4 of these we service, and they just bought another one I think from a wholesaler friend.

it has 120k and everything works until I connect finisher. Not finisher issue because it works on the other machines. Machine will print fine without finisher installed

Machine see there a finisher sr5090 and will show if doors are open but if you try to print anything including counter page it just stays stuck in Printing, but nothing ever comes out, and no codes. Have to reboot. Any ideas? Already tried resetting all connectors that go from finisher plug to boards.

The only thing I can think of is firmware on the SR5090.

I would check wiring harness from plug to boards.

Are there any other options between the 8300 and the finisher?

Not now but it was used when they got it so it might have when new. I just thought of that last night also. Ill have to print out the non default page next week and check. Maybe if it had one of those other options there is a sp setting to turn it on and it is looking for it.

The plug on the 8300 machine side may be not seated good enough inside the machine. Try to open the cover on machine and push plugs from both sides (external one from finisher and hold the plug from inside the machine). I had a long time ago somehow similar problem. The other option I can remember now is to update the finisher firmware. Is there any SC code in history SP 7-403. Another option is dead part of PCB board on machine. This part of board is not in use when there is no finisher atached, as I can remember.

Check on connector CN411 (PSU board C, on the left lower side of the machine back) of pin 7 and 8 if you have voltage 24V. Does finisher initializes when you power on machine?

Ok. Yes finisher initializes and trays move up and down. Also shows on machine and shows when doors are open.

Next thing to do is update both the machine and the finisher firmware. If the machine has a decurler, try removing it.

If it originally had an option like decurler is it a plug ang play option or is there an sp setting?

As I could see, it should be plug and play, but there are some settings:
                    SP 6-416-001 should be 0
                    SP 6-416-002 should be 0
SP 6-040-001 should be 0 If there is not decurl unit.
Try to print from other trays (not T1 or T2).

                    From some of the manuals:
To use the decurler unit, specify 0304: [Adjust Paper Curl] in the [Machine: Paper Feed/ Output] group on the [Adjustment Settings for Skilled Operators] menu.

In the [Machine: Paper Feed/ Output] group on the [Adjustment Settings for Skilled Operators] menu, check the present degree of decurling (Off, Weak, or Strong) in 0304.

I am not sure if some of these settings changes paper output path.

Wanted to let you know that after doing all the recommended things we finally resolved the issue. They bought this machine from a friend in the wholesale business, and they sent an 8310s with a 8300s door. They said original door was all cracked up. All their current machines are 8300s and have the sr 5090 finisher but come to find out that finisher is only for the 8300s.
The 8310 and 8320 only use the bigger ones. STILL ODD MACHINE SHOWED THE FINISHER WITH NO ERROR. Anyway, they just delivered it and all is good.
