    [Misc] Ricoh MP 1900

    Hi
I am having an issue with a Ricoh MP1900 machine. Initially it used to power on and display SC542 and switch off by itself. As the code refers to the fuser, I removed the fuser and checked the lamps are OK, removed the thermistors and cleaned it for toner deposits. After i put it back, it no longer powers on, no display , the power supply just makes a click noise, I presume for the relay and then dies.

I swapped with another fuser and the problem remains the same.

    Any suggestions.

    Thankks

Remove the fuser unit, check both thermistors for a short circuit to ground/chassis, then switch on.
If you see again the SC-5XX message, lucky you, if not, check power supply or a DC board...

      Hi

Like the previous tech mentioned if you swapped the fuser unit and you sure that the unit is working, then you need to look at the power supply unit. Alternatively... This is a long shot, try swapping the controller unit.

Did you clear the error in service mode after swapping the fuser?

The more alarming this is the OP said the machine switched on, displayed the SC, then switched off by itself?

Never seen a Kir do that.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

I have had shorted dc motors, solenoids and clutches take down the 24V power supply during engine initialization.
