mpc4503 gear drive on right door.

    greetings
As I waited for a transport guide to arrive I went back to account to change the top transort swing plate to find customer
broke the gear unit on the top of the right side door.
They broke it from the frame and lost one metal shaft.
Is this only needed for duplex?
I figure i will have to drill and tap the old shaft to reconnect.

It looks like it is just for DX. I would also try to refix it somehow. It may not be too bad, it looks like it is attached to the metal framework instead of something plastic.

What metal shaft is missing? What I do not see is the timing belt that is supposed to be around the white gear/pulley, the spacer washer that should be between swivel bracket and the frame and the nylon e-clip that goes on the that goes on the inside of the frame to hold everything in place. If instead the shaft was press riveted to the frame, you will need to replace the side frame or you will never get the right tension on the belt.
