    Ricoh MPC4504EX Reset

I purchased a used MPC4504EX and it is still registered to the previous company. I am not able to access any of the admin functions, but was able to determine the IP address so I can use it as a printer. The registration is off, and needs to be adjusted, but more importantly, I need to be able to access the touch panel or the GUI and right now I can do neither.

I was able to get into Service Mode but while trying to access UCS SETTING INITIALIZE ALL SETTINGS AND ADDRESS (5846-046) that option is conveniently missing.

I unplugged the card reader from the USB port. Hoping someone can help me to reset this so I can make it my own.

    Thank you

You sound like an end user to me. SP 5846-046 is only accessible from Factory SP mode. Factory SP mode should never be used by someone who is not Ricoh trained.

Since you claim to be able to get into Service Mode why have you not adjusted registration since that is where the adjustments are?

I am clearly not Ricoh trained. And the best description for me would be an end user. But I turned here for help. I appreciate any help anyone is able to give. I sell toners and parts....i dont fix copiers..but I happen to have purchased this copier so I am trying my best.

See if you can log in to WIM as Supervisor, no password. Supervisor has one function, changing the admin credentials.

I've tried Supervisor and supervisor both without passwords...still no luck gaining access.

Try User: supervisor PW: supervisor, and if that doesn't let you in, then supervisor/admin.

As stated before, Factory SP mode is only available to trained techs. Standard SP mode will let you make any adjustments to registration, just check for the machine's "birth certificate" in the front door...usually under the ADF frame support that gets mounted to the inside of the front door. (left side if memory serves). That will list all of the default settings when the machine left the factory.

If you still can't get in, your only other options are to hire a Ricoh/Savin tech to reset the machine, or you'll need to replace the NVRAM. That will wipe out your meters, but you'll be able to start fresh.

              Good luck.

I would love to give you the code for special (factory) service mode, however I can't. Hint, just do a little googling. It's out there all over the place. I found it in my first general search on chrome. If that doesn't help, you will have to hire a tech to do it.

Then call a local Ricoh, Savin or Lanier dealer and put in a service call.

And if you make a mistake and crater the machine, it is coming out of your pocket.

Log into factory sp mode reset, 1,4,3 press C & release then hold down C

Once in go to system SP586-46-46 this will reset both supervisor & administrator account back to default.

That is a no-no giving out the factory AP mode. Please delete.
