Ricoh IM C3010 Remote Fax set up to a client Ricoh copier machine ???

    Hi Guys,
my colleague has gone out to a customer to set up Remote faxing. i said i would put his question on here:

    his question:
    Hello Ben

How do I input a IP address on a client machine? on remote machine for fax connection unit M52 (SD card). SD card is setup on Ricoh IMC3010. (the Remote machine)
How do I input OR FIND where you put the IP address on Client machine which is a Ricoh IMC 3000. the installation notes in the service manual does not make sense. Is it in user tools or do i have to log in as admin that might give me more features or is there an SP to enter on the Client machine?

any help would be great. personally i have not installed a M52 remote faxing. so i am not much help to Steve.

    thanks
    Ben

    Steve

I think he might be referring to the SIP host for IPFax. I believe that there is also a way for one Ricoh to share its physical Fax connection with other Ricoh on the same LAN. Both operations, IPFax and shared Fax, might require the installation of a JAVA or Android application.

          Thanks Slimbob, your correct.
we figured it out. the Remote machine is the Host where you install the fax board on it. you put the sd card with fax related software on the client. another Ricoh copier on their network. go back to the remote (host) copier and input the ip address off the client machine to enable faxing on the client machine.

            Mate,
I have down copiers before the digital ere. on 27 years. so i think i know how to put an ip address on a copier. I don't think you actually understand my question on what we were trying to achieve. but if you scroll down to my reply to Slimbob. it would give you an idea!
but thanks for you comment - ps, Ricoh could not afford me!

It can be done via OP panel in Fax features-reception area. Best to follow the manual even though it sounds convoluted it isn't difficult. The theory behind it is similar to the master/slave central addressbook setup. The target device obviously needs a fax line, fax option and the Fax connection sd card. You need to setup this device first. The slave that piggy backs off the device that has a fax line canot have a fax option installed. Just the fax connection sd card. You then point it to the target devices IP address. If the slave device has a fax option in it then you need to remove it to make it work. This is just a cheap way to share a fax line.

                Thank you Scott,

great help. we got there in the end. the joys of working on 7 different manufacture's machines, its another thing to figure out. but it keeps the job from being boring. owe and getting call planners to give you time to solve it is another storey
