Pro 5300 2nd side of print is skewed, 1st side is ok. how do i adjust 2nd side?

    HI guys,
we have a customer and his 2nd side is skewed, from all trays and different media weights is skewed. the top left of pattern 14 (rectangle image box within the paper) is in the right place. the top right is out by 1.5mm. see picture

    1. i have checked and cleaned all the duplex unit. it looks ok. rollers etc all cleaned. his side 1 is perfect only the issue on 2nd side
    2. i have aligned all trays correctly using the pattern 14 test page adjusting the leading edge & side to side all done.
    3. i have done the fiery tray alignment - where you fold the paper and put the line of the scale numbers in. for all trays. 1 then 2 sided setting corrected. still get the issue.
    4. i have checked the dial on the reg unit its in the centre (skewed manual adjustment) so thats ok and my side 1 is perfect.

Is there more adjustments for 2nd side skew in service mode ??? i cant find anything

any help would be great thanks

!.5 mm is within specifications which is +/- 2mm.

Can't tell a thing from your phone picture. Especially with a sheet of white paper in back of over half the lead edge of the sample.

Does the problem occur from the doc feeder, the platen glass or with print jobs sent from a computer?

      Hi Slimbob,

he prints his jobs from the fiery on sra3 350g which has the crop cut lines on the print outs. he then cuts the card down to make a single page a5 booklet. 2 sides of print (funeral card creation)
I firstly had to work out if the pro 5300s prints its side 1 or side 2 first on a 2 sided job. the answer to that is it prints the side 1 first (mpc and imc range do the opposite) so from my pattern alignment rectangle pattern 14 print outs on every tray the 2nd side was skewed print. so it tells me the trays were ok its a duplex issue. also reg unit is 2 months old plus the 1st side of print is not skewed, so tells me reg units ok.
all the duplex path mylars / stickers guide rollers are ok.

called ricoh tech support on it, your correct its within mm tolerance.

i have found in the extra sp mode pdf that i can adjust the DUPLEX BUCKLE. when i next go back back to the customer to do maintenance parts fit. i will increase duplex buckle see if that helps out or decreases the skew.
its in the SP 1s FEED

      will update

It may within Ricoh specs, but something is wrong. It should be a lot tighter than 1.5mm

That sort of skew can be adjusted out with the Fiery. I had a customer who was a real pain in the arse that couldn't understand the machine can't adjust second side skew on it's own, it has to be done in the job.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

            I agree mate.
especially when the customer is using a big guillotine machine to cut at the crop lines and says, well ok Ricoh but why has it not skewed like this before. the guy has a point
