    smart connector bluetooth printing

I was trying to print from my google phone to a MPC2004ex using the bluetooth connection

I get a "Failed to find an operation panel which supports Bluetooth connection...." message

also mentions checking the App bluetooth sensitivity and make sure- "you have gas in it"!- bluetooth connection function on the MFP's op panel is turned on.

Well I had gone in to the System Settings screen features- turned Bluetooth on. Fairly sure wireless and wifi are off. I was able to pair my phone with the copier.

Whenever I print though using the Connector app I get that message.

I put my phone right on top of the bluetooth emblem on the op panel. Even took the cover off my phone. I can print when I connect using the IP address.

To be honest, I haven't tried printing that way before. (Someone had called in asking about printing to a MPC4504 using bluetooth so I was going to try it on the MPC2004ex to see what was involved).

I saw some sort of contact file transfer or something like in my phone bluetooth settings so I turned that on. Off or on it did same thing.

Just because the emblem is on the panel does not ean that it is in the correct position or that Blur Tooth is enabled.

i agree with slim. the language and symbol for wi-fi is on a ricoh. it is garbage, doesn't work. it is more headache to try to get it to do anything. have never had any luck getting it to work. even if by a miracle you get it to work. you basically have to be standing on top of the machine with your phone. unless your phone is physically touching the machine, it won't work. that's how weak the wi-fi is on that device. it is very misleading.

wThere is also a USB Bluetooth device option, BLUETOOTH INTERFACE UNIT TYPE D (D566-01) that plugs into one of the USB ports on the controller. Give a range similar to other Bluetooth printers, up to 10 meters.
