Ricoh MPC4503 scan problem

have a customer have a windows server 2011 and scan to folder not a problem. now they have a windows server 2016 that wont scan to folder and copier has latest firmware. They call ricoh said will not work with that software. Just wanted to verify that is true.

In order for SMB scan to folder to work with Server 2016 or later certain network settings on the C4503 must be correct.

1. Domain name must be correct
2. The first DNS must be the local domain DNS, usually the domain server itself
3. Destination must be by computer name not IP address.

Of course it can scan to 2016 ricoh would not say that.
Probably firmware or a firewall

You best to update with package firmware

Also your firmware is well out of date

Is there some specific software that they are trying to use like maybe scan router? Scan Router is not compatible with current Windows server versions.

They were using window server 2011 everything fine then upgraded to 2016. When they had problems continue to use old server but wanting now to do it using 2016.

If they are using Scan Router, a software that Ricoh used to sell, they may need to upgrade to v2.60 to gain compatibility with Windows 10 64 bit. The 2 websites that I have found that were not blocked by my anti virus software do not show any compatibility any Windows server after 2012.

you need to initialize the folder path again in the address book together with the log in
AND
the scanner ip address needs to be defined in the firewall and mail server as safe.
