[CQ] Ricoh MPC3000 printing light half page only in black and white

I have seen similar posts about this here but hoping for some help on the topic. Ricoh MPC 3000 will print very light on half the page. Changed the drum and developer unit. No Change. Checked shutter and it is opening and closing ok. Ran forced toner. No change. If I Print each color by themselves (except black) test pages are OK. Only black is the issue. I am attaching test pages I printed out. First two images are the document reversed on the glass as a copy. The others are test prints, except the last one is a copy from the manual.

Your prob;em might be with the K transfer roller in the ITB assembly. It is raised and lowered by the latches the ITB in place. It could be binding at one end.

Long time ago but wasn't there an issue with the laser shutter on that series? I think we took out the laser and stripped the shutter completely. Not shure if it's enough to remove the metal plate or if you also need to disable the feature in SP mode to avoid SC codes. You can also try and force a print stop and check the image on the drum/itb surface. If the image is OK on drum you can rule out ITB.

I believe that techs were removing the shutter entirely, no SP change.

Ok thanks for the tips. I will get back asap. I don't believe its the optics as when I print full color or solid color c,m,y they print OK. In full color if there is black at 1/3 of the page it will print lighter than the rest. It's mostly noticable with black only.

I don't know if I understood you correctly but...
in an MPC2800 and also in an MPC5000 this happened to me, a clear copy on one side or in the center, especially the black.
I changed the PCU, transfer, PTR, etc... anyway
I lowered the laser, opened it and cleaned the windows of each one.
              they were opaque.

              full image.
I hope this is your case
              regards.

On the mpc 2500 not sure on the 3000 they used a developer solenoid on the black unit. They stick causing black to wash out Its behind the power supply unit. When I had the issue the top did not print but the bottom half did. The felt on the solenoid gets sticky you can clean it off and it will work. Just not sure if its on the model or not.
