MP 4002 not sending but confirm says completed

    I have a mp4002
has connectivity, prints, pings smtp sever, but the email says sent, 100% and the log says completed, yet no email is being received ,
machine has been pinged, and re started hard re boot, email being used is active and working, i tried three different isp's aol, gmail, and my web mail at my dot com witch is working
    believe me .. lol...
is there an internal Pctler issue that would cause this?
customers email is working, from the same building, same office, same router.
    any suggestions will be appreciated.

Unless the scanned size of the PDF is larger than what the email provider allows, most likely the problem is at the email provider not the 4002.Try using Wireshark to monitor the transmission.

      Yes. Excellent suggestion by Slimslob.

I would like to add, these are some of the things I try in that situation

      1) change max email size. I either put it off or reduce the size.
      2) I put divide and send email off.
      3) Since the machine is saying that the email is sent , in my experiences the machine has sent the email to the server at this point your machine receives a confirmation that it is received but from there it can be blocked by the email service provider. The customer needs to contact the email service provider and tell them that emails are being blocked and from what email address. I've had this issue before.

I've had all of these issues before.

      Hope this helps

Change the senders name. I run into this a lot and I will have the customer change it to a gmail account or my .me account name for testing purposes. Always works. AOL and YAHOO accounts seems to be the most problematic.

I remember now that a number of years ago a few of the free online email services made a change that required the domain of the authentication name and the sender name had to be the same. I can't remember if Ricoh put out as bulletin on it or if tech support told me but there is a setting in SP that would force the authentication name to be used as the sender name during negotiation and then put the actual sender in the body of the email. Gmail was one of those services.
