    SC-554-02 Ricoh C4503

    Hi Experts,

    SC-554-02

I have tried resetting 5810-001, and 002 from SP mode. But after restarting error comes again.

Lamps were not turning ON. No heat in the Fuser rollers.
Checked Thermostats. Continuity OK. Checked lamps. OK

As per service manual the faulty parts could be " Triac Short, Edge NC thermistor, Thermopile.

After interchanging the thermopiles. It started working for sometime. Now after resetting the error code it prints and works fine for few minutes. 5 to 10 minutes. Sometimes even after restarting working fines without error code.

Then all of the sudden same error code SC-554-02 occurs again.

I suspect the NC thermistor is faulty.

Any advice will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

If the lamps are not coming ON the triac is not shorted.

By interchanging the thermopiles do you mean replacing with new devices? If not, you need to order new.

Interchanging means I replaced the right one with left one. Not new. The same old thermopiles I simply changed their positions. After doing this machine started working fine for few mins. Before this it was not working at all.

When you execute SP 5810 to clear a fusing error, the first thing the machine does is check if the cause has been corrected. If not, the error is not cleared. On swapping the thermopiles you made it appear that the error was repaired. It then took a fixed number of bad reads for a certain number of minutes of operation to detect the error in the new location.

It should be a high temperature code so it needs to be reset with a new blown fuse, assuming there is no damage to the fusing belt.

I had this awhile back and it was intermittent. Had to replace the Little AC p/s board that feeds the fuser.
