    Ricoh IM3000 Jam code J017

Having trouble with an IM3000 jamming at the registration roller. The paper stops right on the sensor, hesitates for a minute or so then calls out Jam code J017. Have tested the sensor, it checks out as functional, tested the registration roller function, it is also operational. This happens out of all trays. It almost seems as though the registration sensor is not triggering the registration roller to turn on. Did firmware upgrade, issue still there.
    Any ideas?

Either the paper is late in getting to the sensor or the sensor is slow to respond. You cannot trust static testing of a jam sensor. My bet goes to it being a flaky sensor.

I tried swooping the sensors with working sensors from a running machine, yet no respond.
Hence, I have also changed the transport unit still error persist.

If customer trying to print heavy Colored Photograph or large PDF, this could happen due to Diprint timeout settings - in older devices it was 300 seconds as default, in xxx4 series and onwards its changed to 15 seconds. you can increase in some of the newer models in Network settings or have to use Telnet option. Good luck

if you have change the reg.sensor without result, could be a defective/broken transfer harness, or bad IOB, check in the smc anyway the paper format that detect the machine, and force in user tools the real paper format

            Thanks team for the support.
Hence, the compression spring from the manual feed which the paper flow through to the registration was abit weak. Spring adjusted and tightened, machine working ok.

            issue resolved.
