    MPC307 ITB cleaning unit

    HI,

There's no notation of the part nm from the ITB cleaning unit . . .(?)
must the complete ITB unit needs to be replaced ? It gives spots on the prints occasionally, think the cleaning unit doesn't do its job . . .

    someone a clue here
    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately the ITB cleaning unit isn't available as a separate part, the entire unit needs to be replaced.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

According to the Product Support Guide the recommended PM life is 120K. And that is is the machine averages at least 2 pages per job. For a machine that does mostly 1 page per job it is reduced to 80K.

It's typical that the cleaning unit might have collected just too much dust lints - cleaning usually helps if the ITB assy is within the pm yield and good condition.

giusto! on all brands, cleaning it between one pm and another can extend its life .... even a lot!

Can't order them on their own. For some reason they clog up easily with toner and hair, I think because the auger and the size of the unit is too small. Plus it is not in a brilliant position in the machine.
You can remove the whole ITB, unscrew the cleaning unit, unclip the sides (and probably snap the little black arms off at the same time) you can hoover it out etc You will see how chunky the toner inside it is. Do this at your own risk though if it really needs doing. It is just one of these parts that works well for ages but the cleaning unit buggers up far sooner, ruining the whole thing.
