    Ricoh SCP811DN SC290 Error

I've recently gotten hold of a SCP811DN and it's been stuck showing the SC290 error.
The shutter bracket on the laser has already been taken off, putting it back on displays SC293. I've tested SP2914 003 and 004, it will close but refuse to open.
I assume this is an issue with the shutter motor, but I'd like to exhaust all options before taking apart the printer into a billion pieces.

I don't think the printer needs the shutter to run, is it plausible to fool the sensor via CN266 if there's no SP code to disable the motor?

Appreciate any replies that come through.

Edit: I've checked the jam history and last jam was on tray 1 with >60000 on the counter and a paper size of 26. This was during my testing of the shutter motor.

SC293 is a shutter time out error. Last solution in Goose's Guide for both codes is replace shutter motor.

Yes, but what I'm asking is before tearing the printer apart, are there modifications that can be done to the IOB? Is the motor assembly a stepper motor or does it rely on the sensor?
