    MP C305 #3 Jams

Have a MP C305 that is presenting mostly #3 jams, a few #17 and a #57. The firmware is up to date, the feed roller and sep pad are new, the feed sensors are new. The clutches feel great when activating them in the service mode. Any ideas, #3 jams are about the easiest to fix but not in this case. Thanks!

Something I should add, I hear that there is a way to increase the upward pressure on the stack in the paper tray. Where is the setting for this? Thanks!

Check the black lifting hook on the back of the paper tray, the one with the thick spring, these can crack so the plate doesn't lift with enough pressure.

SP1907-029 is the lifting tray pressure setting.

Thanks, I have replaced many of those lofting hooks, this one is good. I'm going to try to increase the upward pressure. Thanks for the reply!!

I have also found that replacing just the feed roller improves feed, in my opinion a new friction pad is too 'grippy' sometimes even removing the sep pad spring helps.

Worst case & if the pick up feed/clutch is strong fit a new paper tray.
