Ricoh MPC307 turns on automatically after a power failure. I would like to have it turn on and not have the machine turn on by itself. Is there a setting to prevent it from turning on by itself?

In order to prevent automatic restart you have to turn the main power switch off when the power fails. This is not the power button on the control panel. It is the switch on the lower right side of the main frame. The right side is where the bypass tray is. -
personally I think it's better, imagine a company with multiple devices that suffers a power outage, someone should go around the offices to turn on all the machines
this problem was perhaps more felt in the past, when fax cards were very important
anyway, on PCs, in the bios there is the option when the power comes back = stay-off, stay-on, last state
but in MF I don't see it
if you are present anyway just press the button while the power is out, and the capacitors discharge, this should keep the device off when it comes backLast edited by luca72; 3 weeks ago."loneliness is an invention of the white man, when we are alone we talk to everything around us, we are never alone" (Ojibwa)👍 1Comment

My only concern would be the quality of the power grid immediately following the resumption of service. There is going to be an awful amount of surges, sags and spikes. There is the outside possibility of damage to the boards in the MF. A good power protection device is highly recommended if you are subject to frequent power outages. The ones recommended by Ricoh should work fine.👍 1Comment
