    RICOH MPC3003

    Hi Everyone,
I got this customer that complains it's Ricoh mpc3003 doesn't boot to home screen immediately, I've checked HDD and other peripherals including disabling java extended feature everything seems ok, but there's this icon that shows below the home screen which I circled, whenever job is send or copy is to be made on the machine, it shows red after job completion it shows green. I don't what could be cause does anyone had idea of what do be the problem.

No sp setting needed - it's somewhere -> user tool / system / admin setting

Oh. I'll look for it on admin setting.

I've seen it on Auto Erase Memory Setting, but trying to off it's saying "You do not have the privileges to use this function" meanwhile all authentication had been disabled... Is there any solution to this??

It should be fine if you set up a device admin again (not shure if that's the exact word but you know what I mean) - that's also required if you want to use/enable this function

I've tried and reset admin login and it has been disabled, still yet screen still comes up on forever "please wait".

Guess you have to re-configure the admin again to protect the user tools, then try change the setting.

To what screen does the machine boot?

If it is anything other than home, go to USER TOOLS > SYSTEM SETTINGS . FUNCTION PRIORITY and make sure it is HOME.

As for the data overwrite protection. Just leave it. Most newer machines have that enabled from factory as added data security and it is a PITA to disable even without all kinds of passwords and such to navigate to begin with. AFAIK you would have to reformat the HDD as part of disabling the protection so I would leave it well alone.

I agree. We always enable this feature at the DOD level when first setting up new equipment, and confirm it is set this way on any older pieces coming through the shop when being reassigned to other users. I have never heard of an end user NOT wanting the additional security this can offer.

I wonder by the customer refused to use the machine the way it was configured.

Thanks, I finally got the solution as directed and it boots to home screen without delay, I sincerely appreciate your contribution. Gracias.

Why the hell would want to disable it?
