does the ricoh toner that goes into mp 6054 work in a 3554

I have found out the hard way that the toner listed on precision roller here in the states epd 842126 does not go into the 3554 even though there web page says it does it take the 842993 epd any body fall into this knight mare. One of the groves is filled in and will not go into the copier

The answer is maybe. According to Precision Roller's web page there are two different cartridges that will fit in the 6054. Only one of them will fit in the 25, 30 and 35 ppm models. The 54 model lines came out just before I retired but I do remember that the three slower models were actually a different model line introduced because some large dealers said they needed lower cost models to be able to complete for the smaller customers. At that time the cartridges for the slower models only had a 25K yield instead of 37K. The smaller yield cartridges could be used in the faster models but not the other way around . Smaller dealers with mostly the slower models could then use the 25K yield toner for all their customers.

infact, you can easily remove with a cutter-pliers the one of the printed plastic strips on the toner bottle for make it compatible with the insertion track
otherwise, you can replace or modify the bottle toner collar in front in toner hopper unit.

The toner is the same, the top (grooves) will prevent the 6054 cartridge from fitting into the 3554.
Be careful and swap the top from a 3554 and put it on the 6554, much higher yield and cost effective.
