    [Error Code] MPC6000

Hello I'm new here. I have a venerable old MPC6000 that needs some TLC

Yes its ancient but a very worthwhile machine. It was recently moved and now refuses to co-operate, with an SC670 error code.

I'm hoping to find an engineer who has experience with these machines and pay for his time to help me diagnose and hopefully fix this old fella.

Is such a man alive even though 99.9% of these machines will be dead ?

Happy to make an upfront payment to someone who has real experience with these old beasts.

The VBCU is the controller board. If it is bad you may have more trouble finding it than finding a knowledgeable tech. The only Ricoh tech from the UK that I know of is debs1964.

I'm sorry, but on the Ricoh Octopus portal the documentation is no longer present, and on the service manual version (which I have), it jump from sc627 directly to sc687.

I have an old service manual for the MP C6000/Venus C2 from 2007, and as Luca already mentioned, there's no SC670.
The manual for the MP C6501/Venus C3 says the same as Slim.:

If you just want the manual, it and the Product Support Guide are available from mamualslib. Their version does include SC670. Only problem with it is no bookmarks. Also available from tonerplus.com.ua, which is located in the Ukraine. They also have the parts catalog and point to point.

I assume you have tried the basics unplug peripherals and HDDs. i believe that model still had a printer/scanner sd card possibly try booting up without it. inspect and unplug/reattach all wiring harness. on one of ours the ribbon cable clips got damaged and were being held in using the cover and a feed tire for pressure. if it was a rough ride could be the controller needs to be reseated
