SPC830 Drums DO not work in MPC3502 out of box.Anyone figure out the FIXX??

Hi I gotta get an account up who messed with his drum unit and i can not get it to work with a new spc830 drum/dev unit.
I do not have any spare good or bad units to part out and it has been a while since i messed with these series..
    any thoughts?

Does it give the PCU not set message or does it physically not fit?

Remember having to switch wires on pin 5 & 6 when using PCU Bk for CMY on some models for PCU not set message.

Also remember having to chop the corner on connector but think that was only on older MPC 2000...and what a crap job it was to strip the back out of box when someone forgot and broke the receiving end for that connector.

And remember PCU Bk having an oversized lube bar on the later MPC's that sticks out the bottom and stops it from fitting and never figured out a fix to use them on CMY.

getting the PCU not set message, unit slides in all the way and can not find any old mpc3002 pcdu units in my stash
I tossed most of my older parts.
as i remember the 1 and 2 pin swap was only for K to color.

I remember pin 5 & 6 too so it's worth a shot. Doubt my eyes will still be able to read those small numbers anymore though. Just remember it was the 2 pins on RIGHT of connector if connector facing you with wires crimped on top

*Edit got left and right mixed up because early in morning

** Edit edit I'm now second guessing myself about which pins they were but suppose it's still worth a shot testing the 2 wires on the left and right of the connector

from my saved notes i have
With the connector facing you and the pin tabs facing up, swap the 2 wires on the left end of the connector for the D029 PCU's.

it depends on how you are looking at it. pins facing me with the wires facing away...........

They DO fit but first as 8T2 said these is a lot of 'messing about' to do first.

To be honest if i'm in a hurry I just simply swap the OPC drum into the old unit especially if its a low volume client.

This might help with mod that you might need to make. Personally I never used a file to modify the corner of the connector. I use an Exacto knife to shave it down to the metal pin, remove the pin and shave it down a little more to fit. B2C_Drum_Cheat_Sheet_v2[1].pdf

i am with you but old unit was shot and customer started to do his own rebuild.also can not find one of the td sensors pulled off...............
the female connector inside machine seems to be where it needs to be...i too use a small thin exacto knife but i only shave the plastic top not the pin.
UNIT GOED IN WITH NO PROBLEM.
