    [Error Code] MP C6503 SC381-01 to SC381-04

    Hi All,
Hope you have a great day! I have Ricoh MP C6503 in the field that consistently displays SC 381-01 to SC 381-04 errors every morning upon first use. The error clears after the customer power cycles the machine, and it works fine all day. Tried replacing the potential sensor board and potential sensor with no luck. Has anyone faced this issue before, or have any ideas how to solve this? Thank you!

What are the maintenance counts for the drum units? What is the overnight temperature and humidity in room where the C6503 is located? Condensation on the surface of the drums can adversely affect potential sensor readings.

IF your C6503 has only 80K on the counter then there in lies the problem. That model was replaced five years ago by the IM C6500. No new MP C6503 were produced after that time. Every consumable in the PCDUs has died of old age.

yes, it was old stock, but it installed one year ago, and this error appear since tow month only. The machine sometime work for tow week without any problem.

Run SP3070 and execute to run potential control
Run SP3071-01 to see the reading for step 1. If number is -550 or more negative then drum and potential sensor are good.
run SP3030. This will stir developer mix and will run for a couple of minutes
Power cycle printer and run test copy. If good you are done. If the image is light run SP3050-01 to force add toner. Run SP3030 power cycle and check image. Repeat if necessary.
