savin MP C 307 doc feed phantom jam codes

Doc feed phantom jams. It gets J 045, 004, 001. The J001 happens when placing a document on the glass. Opening the cover and closing it will reset it most times. 045 seems to happen mostly when feeding while occasionally 004 has happened. Now I know this system cross references to a Ricoh, but I cant seem to find the actual model number so that I can dwnld the service manual. Anyway, I have cleaned all sensors that I could find with air, but no success. Is there a hidden sensor somewhere? Maybe a f/w update? Any help appreciated.

Also, occasionally the users name will grey out when scanning, but I only saw that once. The customer claims it happens often.

Is it J045 or J054? Original jams J 004 and J054 are both associated with the registration sensor. J001 whether main frame or feeder is always a jam found at power on or when a cover is closed. Look for a scrap of paper or other foreign material in the vicinity of the registration sensor.

I am pretty sure it is 045 but I sometimes transpose numbers. This seems to be associated with the doc feed. If I lift the doc feed and place original on glass, it will go into J 001. Opening and closing the doc feed cover will reset it. If I use the doc feed to scan/copy, it will feed, but will give J 045(054) or J 004.

In SP7505 Original Jam Detection counters there is no 045. 004 is the lead edge late in reaching the registration sensor and 054 is the trail edge. Lifting the doc feeder with a faulty sensor can cause a J001. You most likely have a problem with the registration sensor.

Thanks, do you know which model the savin cross references to in Ricoh? I want to look at the parts diagram so I can see where the reg sensor is.

check via sp input the guilty sensor....anyway, a firmware update could give more positive surprise

if the screws on the hinges are loose where it screws into the body f the df can cause all sorts of jams worth taking the df off machine and laying it on its back and checking them
