This printer has about 96,000 copies and now occasionally I get an SC 220-01 error.sometimes it lets me work and make up to 20 sheets, and then it gives me the error. other times it fails when turning it on or when trying to make a print.The lasser unit had never been opened. now to clean it but the error persists.
It all started with an error SC 681-16 and SC 681-18. which has already been resolved.sometimes it gave an SC 681 and at other times the SC 220-01.

Do you mean the Aficio SP C830DN?

SC 220 is a laser synchronization detection error. With a color model -01 is Black Start. Are you sure you didn't knock a cable loose when working on the Toner bottle ID: Communication errors?

I can't find the fault and I don't have a way to change the parts that the manual asks for.

Have had one of the front door switches give me SC220 so it's a quick enough thing to try

laser bk syncronization error: uncover the laserbox, clear gently with air-tank, check the harness condition, and try full SP2111 and SP3011 full. If code return replace the Laser,
