[Misc] 6004EX resets job on error : SR3210 will not shift collate

Hi, I am a recent buyer of a very lightly used Ricoh MP C6004ex. We have a couple other Ricoh's and I wanted something a bit faster. I like the machine but I am perplexed at two things.

    1. The machine resets the job whenever a paper jam, paper outage, toner outage, or similar event occurs. So, I don't know where I was in the print job without sifting through the output and trying to identify how many copies were made etc.

    2. The SR3210 Finisher doesn't seem to shift sort. (even though I made the seller confirm with me that it did prior to deciding to purchase it)

I have looked through the settings on the machine and the driver as well. I cannot seem to find anything that adjusts these settings.

The driver was downloaded from Ricoh and is for the 6004ex and is PCL6

    Any ideas?

Yes, the finisher absolutely does shift sort, so I'm wondering if you may be using the PCL6 universal driver as opposed to the full pcl6 driver? The universal driver has limited function for some devices/ options, and this may be one of them.

As for the jobs automatically resetting, I've not seen that before, because the default is to "continue", and I have no idea why someone would want to change it .
After a quick look through the system settings.....it appears that the one you're looking would be this one:

    User tools
    Machine features
    Printer features
    System
Auto cancel for print jobs on error (set to OFF)

Thanks for the fix on the Cancel on Error, I certainly must have overlooked that. I appreciate it.

The driver doesn't seem to be the Universal version. I initially started with a universal one but brought in my IT guy to help get the official driver, etc. Test page image attached...

          BTW.....
What actually happens when you select "sort"? Do the pages just all pile on top of one another?
There is no actual "shift sort" option to select, because that's how the finisher operates when you select the "sort' function

if I understood the request correctly, maybe it is in: user tools - printer - system -delete job with error=on/off & autocontinue=immediate

not use pcl6 universal , sometimes he make mess

I seem to only have a "Collate" selection, not "Sort". Can you advise where that selection may be?

In my Collate options, there is no "Shift" selection. In instructions online, I have seen where there should be an option to shift, but I don't seem to have it.

I figured it out... I just hadn't selected the Shift Output Tray. Once I did, I have shift collate as a collate option.
