MP5054 - J060,020,019,001, random, despite paper exit unit replacement

today I went to see an mp5054 jamming j060, 001, 020, 019, at random. I changed the complete paper output unit (100% working) and registration sensor. he printed 20 pages, then began to jam with the aforementioned codes, sometimes the sheets were there, sometimes not, then it happened that despite removing all the sheets, it did not reset. then I tried to update the firmware, but I couldn't find the machine with the damn RFUT. I found that by resetting the engine, the machine would reset and get back to ready, but then it started again. back in the lab, I tried all the stuff I had brought, and it all worked. tomorrow I have to come back, what do you say will be the IOB?

I would suspect crappy electrical power. If you have a line conditioner available take it. It you have a power line monitor take it.

has it worked well so far? it's a pretty big structure (ducati dealers), I can try to connect it to another power outlet.... but I have the feeling that there is a fault in the machine...sob!

Perhaps one of the door or safety switches produces trouble. I know this has been logged only as "at power on" jam in the past but we had a case with improper logging (can't recall on wich model/type though). Is the image/print correctly aligned if you check the jammed sheets? Do you have another fuser + fuser drive/exit drive you can throw in for testing? PCB is possible but when I work with ricoh I usually end up that it's not a PCB issue (besides rare cases showing SC codes indicating it might).

I have another complete machine in the lab, but it's a 4054, the image is ok, I'll check the switch

I think you can swap the fuser between 4054-5054-6054 (but not with the slower ones like 3054/3554).

Had some issues with an Mp4054,.. Random jams... For me it was the drum picker finger, also noticed that if you do a input check, you'll see that the paper exit sensor and fuser entrance sensor is swapped!.... If you cover the fuser entrance sensor, the paper exit sensor turns from."0" to "1"...

I have had a couple of 54s with jamming problems and its caused by the reg rollers on the transfer roller unit swelling up or coming loose on there shaft so they start to move around in there slots this cause all sorts of jams at feed and exit and reg area

                  SOLVED:
this morning I went to the client, armed to the teeth, I brought:
                  - BCU board
                  - complete pcdu new
                  - fuser unit
. paper exit unit (100% work)
                  - sd card with latest firmware package and some newest module.

when the machine was turned on, it already gave j001 fixed, without paper, and not resettable, I proceeded in the following way

                  - reset engine sp801-engine
                  - turned off the machine
                  - complete paper output replaced (laboratory tested)
                  - complete pcdu, to do first, and it still needed to be rebuilt (200k!)
                  - replaced fuser unit (the presser where there are the therms was damaged.)
                  - replaced door switch, it cost nothing and I had it (as suggested by gift)
                  - powered on with sd inside, and updated package + various newer module
                  - restarted the machine, and did no more problems for all the time I was there to update the drivers on various pc (they had the mp5000 one)

I personally think that the main problem is that the firmware has been "messed up", and by updating it again, the electronics have been cleaned up,
now I'll do the reverse process, mounting all the parts on the 4054 in the lab, to see what happens

so everything ok, thanks everyone for the valuable advice, and good luck.

If you're lucky everything will work even if the culprit is hidden among the parts (thanks to lower process speed^^).

As for rewriting firmware it can be tricky if you have nothing newer. IIRC ricoh just skip equal versions end refuses downgrades.
