MP C6004ex - Single unwanted line/streak on each copy

Just got this copier a month or so ago. Has about 100k, now 130k.

Developed a small streak (more of a line) about 1.5x the width of a hair, about 3/8" down from the top.

Not knowing much about this machine, I thought I would reach out to determine what to do to fix this?

    Thanks

Copying only (thru the ADF)? or printing too?
    B&W only or Colour also?
Direction of the line? Parallel or Perpnediciular to paper direction?

Lots of questions, and keep in mind that " a picture is worth a thousand words".....(Image Samples are immensely helpful)

By "top" do you mean the lead edge as the paper is coming out into the exit area or do you mean the back edge as it is setting in the tray or one of the other 2 edges.

The best suggestion that I can make is pay for a qualified Ricoh trained technician to come look at your machine.
As Sandy said...you've left SO much info out of your question.
Is it a black line or coloured?
        Before or after fusing?

I am sorry I didn't include a picture. I am having fits with this forum software. Whenever I have tried to add a picture via the Insert Image button, it gives me an error "Upload of file [filename] failed". I assumed it may have been an image that was too big, but when I decrease the size (using Paint to resize), it then becomes so small as to be unreadable. Is there something I am missing here?

Sorry, I know the data I provided is lacking.

I have trouble in this forum uploading images, it keeps telling me the upload of the file has failed. I am happy to provide the images, I just need to figure out how to do it in this software.

Why are you trying to upland an image? Use your excellent C6004 scanner and scan a pdf, and upload that
Also.. you still didn't bother to answer any questions we've asked

It could be too large either in total size, width or height. When you are on the File Upload Manager screen you should see a small light blue circle near the upper right hand with a question mark. Click on that and it will bring up s list of all file types and their maximum allowed sizes.

You can always use an image program such as Irfanview to change the size.

                        Scanned PDF attached...

It's on yellow paper so I am sorry if that is hard to see. I can print a copy on white paper if desired.

This is happening when I print. I am not copying.

It is a color document, albeit just a small amount of color per page.

The line seems to be black. I looked at the line under a microscope and it is either black or dark blue (but definitely doesn't look cyan, so assuming black)

The line is parallel to paper direction. Ie. the paper is coming out effectively in landscape, and the line is parallel to the short sides of the paper. The top of the paper is thus, oriented to the back of the machine.

Regarding the question about "before or after fusing", I guess it has to be after fusing obviously. I haven't it checked if the line is there while the paper is in process, nor do I necessarily know how to do that.

Looks like either a dirty charge roller or a nick in the cleaning blade.

100% Tim.....or also scre in drum itself.
What would be interesting to know, But it's like pulling teeth trying to get the answer, is does it happen in B&W?
If so, then it is definitely the black drum unit. If not then it is one of the colour units

MY gut feeling is that we aren't necessarily dealing with a Technician but an end user who has bought the machine used.

It's called a "crash stop" and most techs would know how to do it.
Not having a go at the OP but I DID recommend having a qualified technician take a peek at the machine....otherwise...I hear that Fixya are looking for printer issues to fix
