Disable smart service calls / automatic service calls

The newer Ricoh's with the smart display panel have a feature that can automatically contact the Ricoh service center and in an error state will display the message Smart Service Call and the error number, is there a way to disable this automatic communication feature? Thanks in advance.

Are you shure it's enabled by default? In EU market region it isn't.

It is enabled on the C3004 machine that prompted me to ask my question.
Whether or not it is enabled by default, I don't know. Just want to know the procedure to disable that feature when auto communication with Ricoh for service is no longer desired by the customer.

My guess is it is part of the @remote / ARMS system for Ricoh to remotely monitor and manage stuff. Must be a way to uninstall this feature when no longer desired.

Ah ok - sounded like a general question to me. I don't know the procedure. If this is a returned unit I'd probably try and perform the usual data clear procedures.

I have started uninstalling all of the remote support apps in the screen SP mode. There are usually 3 or 4:
Remote service, remote support, etc (or something like that). Just remove all that sound like that.
In check status, the remote support button still exists, but now when you press it, it just returns to the home screen
This has solved it for me anyway....

            If it's @remote doing it, go into SP5515, set 1-12 to 0

Hey there! I totally get the frustration with those automatic service calls. I had a similar thing with my printer. To disable it on my model, I had to dive into the settings and turn off the automatic communication option. Check your manual or reach out to Ricoh support for specific steps. Also, you can use MightyCall as an alternative. Good luck!
